Welcome to the Aquila Estate & Flying Club FAQ page. Here, we address some of the most common inquiries about our community, facilities, and opportunities. If you have further questions, feel free to reach out to us directly.

Do I have to own an aircraft or be a pilot to purchase a block?

No. Aquila Estate is first and foremost a community gated estate and welcomes all.

Is the airstrip sealed or grass?

There are two airstrips. One is sealed asphalt and the other is grassed.

Is this property outside of the flood region?

Yes, this property in Yengarie, elevated approximately 160ft above sea level, has been carefully chosen to ensure it is well outside any floodplain zones.

What types of aircraft are permitted to land at Aquila?

Aquila accommodates both fixed and rotary wing aircraft, for specific aircraft eligibility and landing permissions, please contact our team or refer to the airfield operations guidelines.

Are helicopters permitted?

Yes, conditions apply.

how are blocks priced?

Our mission is to make Aquila as affordable as possible and accessible to everyone. As with all new construction, off-plan pricing is offered in the early stages, with periodic increases as each block is sold.

Can I build a house without a hangar?

Yes, however, the design of the house must have an allowance for a hangar to be built at a later stage, and the design must conform to the covenants and by-laws. Get in touch for more info.

When did the project to begin?

Civil construction works, including the new airstrip, commenced in January 2024 and are expected to finish in January 2025.

Can I buy my preferred block now?

Yes, interest is high, so get in touch before you lose your desired block.

Can I land on the airstrip now to visit the property?

Yes, we welcome visitors to fly into Aquila to view available opportunities. Prior permission and site induction is required to land as Aquila is still a constructions site. 

What are the circuit procedures?

When will the clubhouse be built?

As planned, to commence in 2025/26.

Who will have access to the Estate and Clubhouse?

Aquila is a secure gated community. Only block owners and flying club members will have access to the estate.

How will my guest gain access at the entrance gate?

We have smart technology solutions for security access at the gate.

Can non-owners fly in?

Yes, by invitation from a block owner only, and they must be present on arrival and departure. The visitor will need to have completed the airfield operations induction form online and approved by the AD Operator.

Is the airstrip sealed or grass?

There are two airstrips. One is sealed asphalt and the other is grassed.

Is this in controlled airspace?

No, Aquila is not in controlled airspace, and there are also no glider or parachute operations allowed.

Is the estate pet-friendly?

Yes. Dogs, cats, and other pets are allowed; dogs must be contained within the large backyards and must be on a leash at all times when walked within the estate. There will be a marked area along the nature walk where dogs may be off-leash.

Will there be an onsite manager?

Yes, a facilities manager will be on site.

Will there be a shared workshop facility?

Yes, Aquila has a dedicated workshop hangar suitable for servicing your aircraft, booked via our online booking system  (to be released at a later date).

What types of activities are available for residents?

Residents can enjoy a variety of activities, including fishing, whale watching, kayaking, cycling, and exploring nearby natural attractions due to the convenient location of the Aquila Estate.

What are the community's eco-friendly initiatives?

Aquila Estate promotes eco-friendly living by integrating sustainable practices and preserving the natural environment.

Are there any community events or gatherings?

Yes, Aquila Estate hosts regular community events and social gatherings to foster a sense of community and camaraderie among residents.

how long do i have to build my house in the estate?

Commencement of construction must be within three years of issue of Title Deed. 

What is the process for customising a home design?

Our team will work with you to customise your home design to fit your lifestyle and preferences while adhering to estate guidelines.

Are there restrictions on property modifications?

Any modifications to properties must comply with community guidelines and covenants to maintain the estate's aesthetic and value.
